The day started with the
morning assembly at 8:40am. Instructions were given for the day during the
assembly and after which the students were sent to the church in class wise for
the Holy Mass. At 9.00am Fr. Jeffree Kharkongor Sdb celebrated the Holy
Eucharist for the staff and students to ask for God’s graces and blessings
before the start of the new scholastic year 2025.
The investiture ceremony
is a significant event in the academic calendar, symbolizing the trust and
confidence bestowed upon the newly elected student leaders. The ceremony marks
the formal delegation of authority and responsibility to the student council,
inspiring them to uphold the values and principles of the institution.
As a token of our respect
and admiration, the chief guest Sir. Isagaha Lawryniang the District BDO and dignitaries
were received with a warm welcome from the students and led by the Guides to
the dais. The ceremony then started with the solemn opening prayer by Sir.
Fedrick Mashli asking God to bless the leaders and all presence which was
followed by a welcome speech by Fr. Jeffree Kharkongor the Vice Principal. The dignitaries,
including the Headmistress, Vice Principal and our chief guests graced the
occasion with their presence, adding grandeur to the event. To mark the opening
of the investiture ceremony 2025. Sir. Isagaha Lawryniang, the chief guest, did
the honour of hoisting the School flag and the students echoes the school
anthem.
The highlight of the
ceremony was the pledge taking ceremony by the Captains and the pinning of
badges and sashes, a moment that filed the air with pride. The newly elected leaders
including the head boy, head girl and house captains took the oath of office
with unwavering determination, pledging to perform their duties with
dedication, integrity and fairness.
Sir. Isagaha Lawryniang,
the chief guests, delivered an inspiring
address to all present especially to the new leaders that being a leader is
very important because its very demanding since one has to lead by his or her
example and work towards fostering unity and discipline. The ceremony included the
motivational speech from Sr. Dorathy Kharduit the animator of Sr Mary’s Convent,
march pass and cultural performance from Cl. IX. Thus, adding a memorable
occasion.
The Investiture ceremony
concluded with the Vote of thanks from Sr. Kanrisha Thangkhiew the Headmistress
and the national anthem which was sung with respect and love for our country by
everyone. It was a moment of celebration and the beginning of a promising
journey for the young leaders, who are now ready to uphold the legacy of the
institution. Therefore, with hearts filled with pride and minds set on their
duties, the student leaders stand as role models, committed to making a
positive impact on their fellow students and the school community.
