The Annual Sports Day of  St Dominic RCLP School Mawkyndeng was held on March 12th  2025, at the school playground, bringing together students, staff, and parents for a day of friendly competition and team spirit. The event kicked off with an inspiring opening ceremony, where the principal Fr Richard Louis Rapthap addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of education in the all round development of the child through sportsmanship and physical fitness. Shri Carmel Suchiang graced the occasion as the chief guest, Fr Donbor Kurbah as the guest of honour, Sr Aitihun Lawai, Sr Carmela Myrthong, Staff and students from Cl I - IV. 

The day featured a wide array of activities, including track and field events such as relay races, long jump and tug-of-war. Students from all grades participated, showcasing their athleticism and determination, which garnered the most cheers from the crowd.

In addition to the traditional events, fun activities such as the sack race, ball in the ring, bottle race, plate race, square ball and brick race provided a lighter, more jovial atmosphere, allowing students of all ages to participate. The students displayed remarkable teamwork and enthusiasm, contributing to the overall success of the event.

At the end of the day, the winning house in the match pass competition was announced, with Green House emerging as the best performance. The top athletes were awarded medals and certificates for their outstanding performances.

The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where the principal congratulated all participants for their effort and sportsmanship. Refreshments were provided to all attendees, and the event ended on a high note with a sense of accomplishment and unity.

Overall, the Annual Sports Day was a resounding success, promoting fitness, teamwork, and school spirit. It was a day enjoyed by all and one that will be remembered fondly for years to come.
