The 21st Annual School Sports Meet of St. John Bosco Higher Secondary School, Nongkroh-Rambrai, took place from February 26-28, 2025. The three-day event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various age groups and houses. The event began with a prayer moment led by Sr. Pherdalin Thongni and Bro. Hubert Riahtam, followed by a lively welcome song presented by the Music Club. Sr. Marylang Suchiang, the Headmistress voice out words of welcome to all the distinguish Guest of the day in the person of Shri. B. Diengdoh, Sub-Inspector of Nongstoin Police Station, as the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony. He hoisted the school flag, marking the beginning of the Annual sports meet 2025. The students then participated in a march past, showcasing their teamwork, with the Chief Guest taking the salute. Shri B. Diengdoh delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of developing inner strength and character. He used analogies of balloons and oranges to illustrate his point, saying, "Just as a balloon fly not because of its colour, but because of the air inside it, our true character is revealed not by external appearances, but by what's inside us." The winners of the marathon race lit the Annual Sports torch, and Shri. B. Diengdoh declared the 21st Annual School Sports meet open. Over the next three days, students displayed remarkable talents, skills, and sportsmanship in various track and field events, team sports, and individual games. Prizes were distributed daily to the winners of each event, recognizing their achievements and hard work. The closing ceremony was held on February 28, 2025, with Shri Peter Aiborlang Mawkhlieng, Branch Manager of Meghalaya Rural Bank Rambrai, as the Chief Guest. Shri Maianlang Nongphud and Shri Condiness Dkhar were Guests of Honour. Before the sports meet was officially closed, Sir Philip Lyngkhoi led the gathering in a thanksgiving prayer. The Chief Guest, Shri Peter Aiborlang Mawkhlieng, then lowered the school flag and declared the sports meet closed. Fr. Gilbert Gel Bhoi, Principal extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, participants, teachers and organizers who made this event possible. In conclusion, the 21st Annual School Sports Meet was a resounding success, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students. The event will be remembered as a celebration of athleticism, school spirit, and teamwork.
