PROVINCIAL VISITS MAWKYNDENG SCHOOL
A provincial visitation was held at St Dominic Hr Sec School Mawkyndeng on 19th September 2025 as part of the canonical visitation which takes place once in a year. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the school's academic progress, facilities, and overall development, as well as to engage with students and staff on matters concerning education quality and welfare.
Today the St Dominic Hr Sec School, Mawkyndeng organised a welcome felicitation program to Rev Fr John Zosiama the Provincial on his canonical visitation to the School community.
The main highlights of the program included:
- Welcome speech by Fr Raphael Tham the Rector and the Parish Priest.
- Cultural Performances by students (prayer dance, traditional dance, instrumental item by the music club)
- Keynotes address by Rev. Fr. Provincial highlighting the importance of working together for a common purpose and for a common goal.
The short felicitation program came to an end with singing the school anthem.
After the morning assembly Fr Provincial also met the staff members at 11:30am addressing them on the importance of educating the young through the Don Bosco Preventive System. He also quoted the words of Aristotle on Education " Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." He concluded bringing the words of Don Bosco "Education is the matter of the heart." The address by Fr Provincial where words of encouragement and advice to both staff and students.
The provincial visitation was a memorable and impactful event that strengthened the relationship between the school and the provincial education authorities. It served as a motivation to both teachers and students to continue striving for excellence in all areas. The school looks forward to implementing the recommendations given and hopes for continued support from the provincial office.
