DBS PITRA AT THE INTER SCHOOL SPORTS MEET
Don Bosco School, Pitra proudly participated in the 5th Inter Don Bosco Schools Tripura Region Sports Meet 2025, held on the 30th of August 2025. The event brought together the young talents of eight Don Bosco schools from across the region, showcasing not only their sporting abilities but also the spirit of unity, teamwork, and discipline inspired by the teachings of Don Bosco.
A total of 53 students from our school took part in the event, accompanied by 12 dedicated teachers who guided, supported, and encouraged them throughout the competitions. The sports meet featured two major games—football and volleyball—for both boys and girls, and Don Bosco School Pitra fielded strong teams in all categories.
In volleyball, our boys teams performed with determination and skill. While they could not progress to the finals, the girls’ volleyball team reached the semifinals, displaying great teamwork and sportsmanship. Their efforts were highly appreciated, as they showed grit and perseverance against tough competition.
In football, our students made us especially proud. Both the boys’ and girls’ football teams advanced to the finals, competing with enthusiasm and discipline. After spirited matches, both teams finished as runners-up, an achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment of our players and the support of their coaches and teachers. This success has motivated our students to aim even higher in future competitions. Notably, even though our school is limited only up to the secondary level, but our students gave a tough challenge to higher secondary level opponents, proving that dedication and teamwork can bridge any gap.
The sports meet was held across two venues—one for boys and another for girls—under the gracious hosting of Don Bosco School, Mandai. The event was skillfully organized under the leadership of the principal, Fr. Joel Ekka, and his team. Their dedication ensured that the matches ran smoothly and professionally. The hospitality, food arrangements, and the professionalism of match officials were commendable, making the participants and visitors feel welcomed and valued.
The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where students were honored for their achievements, followed by a short cultural concert that celebrated the joy of togetherness and youth.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Salesian Fathers of the Shillong Province, Tripura Region, for providing this beautiful opportunity for students and teachers to come together. Events like these not only encourage healthy competition but also foster unity, friendship, and the values of Don Bosco, guiding our youth to grow as individuals with talent, discipline, and faith.
