5TH INTER-DON BOSCO SCHOOL SPORTS MEET 2025 - MANDWI
The 5th Inter-Don Bosco School
Sports Meet 2025 was held with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship on 30th
August 2025 at Don Bosco School, Mandwi. The one-day lightning sports meet
witnessed the spirited participation of eight Don Bosco schools of Tripura,
competing in both boys’ and girls’ football and girls’ volleyball.
The event began with a short
inaugural ceremony in the morning. Fr. Juel Ekka SDB, Principal of Don Bosco
School Mandwi, extended a warm welcome to all. The occasion was graced by
several distinguished guests including Dr. Bipin Debbarma, Smt. Swapna Debbarma
(MLA), Mr. Sanjit Reang (MDC), Smt. Rekha Debbarma (IS), Mr. Dipu Debbarma (OC
of Mandwi), Mr. Abhijit Debbarma and Mr. Tony Debbarma (Social Workers), Br.
Alexius Condpan SDB (Principal of Baijalbari), Fr. Lukas Murmu SDB, Fr. Blasius
Kujur (Parish Priest), along with Sisters, teachers, Brothers, students,
well-wishers and other invited guests.
The St. Xavier’s School Band,
Pathaliaghat, added colour and festivity to the day with their melodious
performance. The boys’ football matches were played at Gourmani Ground, Mandwi,
while the girls’ football and volleyball matches were conducted at the Don
Bosco School campus.
The presence of hundreds of
students, teachers, supporters, and cheerleaders created an atmosphere of
energy and excitement. A drill display by the host school students was a
highlight, adding grace and gaiety to the programme. A team of dedicated
teachers from Don Bosco Mandwi, along with professional referees, ensured the
smooth and professional conduct of the competitions.
The dignitaries present also
delivered inspiring messages, encouraging students to cultivate sportsmanship,
discipline, and teamwork, and appreciated the school for hosting such a grand
event. Special mention must be made of Mr. Mwchang Jamatia, teacher of Don
Bosco Mandwi, who served as the main organizer of the sports meet.
The competitions were closely
contested, reflecting the high level of talent and determination among the
participants. At the end of the day, the following schools emerged as winners:

Champions – St. Xavier’s School, Pathaliaghat
Runners-up – Don Bosco School, Bishramganj - Girls’
Volleyball:
Champions – Don Bosco School, Mandwi
Runners-up – Don Bosco School, Herma - Boys’
Football:
Champions – Don Bosco School, Agartala
Runners-up – Don Bosco School, Pitra - Girls’
Football:
Champions – Don Bosco School, Mandwi
Runners-up – Don Bosco School, Pitra
The Chief Guest and dignitaries
distributed the trophies to the proud winners and congratulated all the
participants. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, marking the
end of a truly memorable day.
The venue arrangements,
hospitality, and coordination by Don Bosco School, Mandwi, were highly
commendable, making the sports meet a grand success. The 5th Inter-Don Bosco
School Sports Meet 2025 was indeed a remarkable occasion that not only
showcased sporting talent but also fostered unity and brotherhood among the Don
Bosco Schools of Tripura.
