A Field Visit to Silcoorie Tea Estate by Mass Media Students of Class XII Humanities
On the 30th August, 2025. The Mass Media students of Don Bosco School, Silchar, embarked on an insightful field visit to the Silcoorie Tea Estate, located in the serene outskirts of Silchar. This visit was part of their practical syllabus in Mass Media, designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world experiences.
The students were given a first-hand look at the entire tea production process, starting from the plucking of fresh tea leaves in the lush tea gardens to the meticulous steps of grinding, drying, and finally packaging the tea for transportation to the market.
This educational trip fostered a deeper connection between classroom concepts and real-world practices, making learning more meaningful and interactive. The students are now tasked with writing detailed reports on their observations, supported by photographic evidence, which will contribute to their practical assessments in the Mass Media course.
