INTER-HOUSE SPELLING BEE COMPETITION - DBS AGARTALA
Don Bosco School Agartala, organized the much-anticipated Inter- House Spelling Bee Competition 2025 on Saturday, 23rd of August. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all classes, with categories ranging from Classes 3–4, 5–6, 7–8, and 9–10. The competition aimed at promoting vocabulary skills, quick thinking, and a love for language among students.
The programme commenced with the contestants of each house being called onto the stage, greeted by loud cheers from their respective houses. The rules of each round were explained by the interjector, and soon the competition began in earnest. The competition was exhilarating, with each participant eager to showcase their language mastery.
The first round required each contestant to spell two words correctly. Blue House excelled with flawless performance, Yellow House followed with one correct spelling, while Red and Green House could not score points in this round. The second round involved filling in blanks and correcting misspelt words. Again, Blue House won the round and with the other houses scored one point each.
The final round featured a buzzer round with six questions, where the first to buzz could attempt the word. Remarkably, Yellow House correctly spelt five out of six words, while the other houses could not score any points. An audience round followed, after which the final scores were: Yellow – 80, Blue – 40, Green – 20, and Red – 10. With this, Yellow House emerged victorious.
Beyond personal achievement, the Spelling Bee served as a platform for celebrating the power of language, encouraging students to enrich their vocabulary and appreciate the nuances of English. A heartfelt thanks goes to our Principal, Mis. Tanushree, and the entire organizing team for their dedication in making the event a grand success. The audience also deserves appreciation for their enthusiastic support, which added to the vibrancy of the competition.
The Inter School Spelling Bee Competition 2025 will be remembered as a significant academic event, fostering the spirit of learning, teamwork, and linguistic excellence among students.
