In an effort to promote responsible road behaviour among young citizens, the Nongstoin Traffic Branch team organized and conducted a Road Safety Awareness Programme during the morning assembly at St. John Bosco Higher Secondary School, Nongkroh-Rambrai on 12th August, 2025. The programme took place in the assembly ground and commenced with a warm welcome address by Sr. Marylang Suchiang, Headmistress of the school, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives for the safety and well-being of students.
Shri S. Wanniang, In-charge of the Nongstoin Traffic Branch, accompanied by his team, delivered a talk to the students. He elaborated on various essential aspects of road safety. His talk covered the importance of possessing a valid driving license before operating any vehicle, the life-saving role of wearing seatbelts, the consistent use of helmets when riding two wheelers, and the need for constant vigilance while walking on or crossing the road. Through practical examples and clear explanations, he stressed that accidents can often be prevented by following basic traffic rules and staying alert at all times.
The programme not only provided valuable information but also encouraged students to share these lessons with their families and friends, thereby spreading the message of road safety beyond the school campus. The initiative was well-received and served as a timely reminder for everyone to become responsible road users.
