First ever in the history of Don Bosco School Herma, The “Grandparents Day” was celebrated on 26 July 2025 with great enthusiasm and warmth, creating a memorable experience for students and their beloved grandparents. The event featured a solemn entry of grandparents walking side-by-side with their grandson and granddaughter to the assembled crowd of students, evoked images of intergenerational connection and family harmony.
The older was offered a flower by the younger ones as sign of welcome and led to their seat for the entertainment. Thereafter was followed by a variety of scintillating performances, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude, strengthening the bond between generations. Among all the performances by the student was the culminated item, a grandparent dressed-up show.
Fr. Suman Kumar SDB, Principal, in his address reiterated the role of Grandparents in all our lives, as Grandparents are “A little bit of parents, a little bit of teacher and a little bit of friend”.
Grandparents shared the experiences, love, and emphasized the passing down of wisdom and values. It was indeed a cherishing moment of togetherness, where the grandparents and grandchildren actively participated in shared activity, fostering a strong bond.
A thought all carried today that grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strongest foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close to heart.
